  • Janeen holds a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology and is a professional member with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).

Janeen also has an undergraduate degree in Museum and Curatorial Studies from the University of Western Ontario. Despite being quite different from the counselling field, she is grateful for her undergraduate degree as it has instilled an appreciation for diverse narratives and worldviews. Her background in art has played a role in shaping her empathetic approach to counselling.

The skills she developed in interpreting and curating artistic expressions have translated seamlessly into her therapeutic work, allowing her to connect with clients on a deeper level and appreciate their individual stories and experiences. This blend of art and psychology enriches her practice, fostering a space where creativity and emotional understanding thrive.

“I am not the expert in your life – you are! I am here to guide, offer support and maybe teach you some new things you didn’t know before that will help you on your journey. I don’t see clients as “broken” even though you might feel that way initially. Rather I see unique strengths and experiences that might be reframed and highlighted to help foster a sense of empowerment. I am truly grateful to work with clients from all backgrounds and identities, and I love that I have learned and gained so much from the connections I have developed.” -Janeen
